My name is Vanessa Deggins. I am a multimedia reporter with a focus on law enforcement and public safety for The American Press in Lake Charles, La. This blog is an online clip packet of my print and multimedia clips for any potential employers. I can be reached at degginspensword@gmail.com.
About Me
I joined The American Press in late October 2007. Along with covering public safety, I have sought out multimedia training throughout the United States.
With the online training I have received at these workshops, I have taught our two photographers to make photo slideshows with audio. I have also taught two fellow reporters how to shoot video and edit it using Final Cut Express.
We, along with a webmaster, manage the Wordpress web blogs used on the newspaper web site.
Before coming to The American Press, I was a freelance journalist and part-time mass communication graduate student.
